The paper proposes a novel filter bank-based cooperative spectrum sensing (FBCSS) technique for cognitive radios beyond 5G, which is robust against radio frequency (RF) impairments and channel fading.

The proposed FBCSS technique uses a filter bank to decompose the received signal into subbands and perform local sensing in each subband. The subband sensing results are then combined using an energy detector to make a final decision on the presence or absence of the primary user.

The FBCSS technique also takes into account the effects of RF impairments and channel fading, which can significantly degrade the performance of spectrum sensing.

Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed FBCSS technique outperforms existing techniques in terms of detection probability and false alarm rate under various RF impairments and fading scenarios.
